IT consultancy firm set to create 200 jobs after ‘strong performance’
DUBLIN-based IT consultancy firm Version-1 is to create nearly 200 jobs over the next year-and-a-half, a move which follows a similar employment drive by the company last year.
The consultancy and managed services outsourcing agent announced it will create 180 jobs across its three offices in Dublin, Cork and Belfast, between now and the beginning of 2013.
The firm already employs 265 people and, less than a year ago, said it was creating 100 jobs over the coming three years. The two employment drives are separate, which will result in 280 new jobs in total.
"Last July we announced the creation of 100 jobs in three years, but given our strong performance, we expect to fill those roles in one year. As a 100% Irish-owned and managed company, we’re delighted to be beating the recession and creating jobs," Version-1’s human rights director Jarlath Dooley said.
The company reported a turnover of €17.5m last year, with revenues rising on a year-on-year basis by 30% in the first quarter of 2011. The month of March, alone, saw gross sales reach a record high of over €2m.
Yesterday’s latest jobs announcement — 45 of the 180 new roles are set to be filled within the next three months — was a direct response, by management, to meet the demands of its new business orders and its forecasted growth of 30% for this year as a whole.
The new jobs will include senior technology consultants, project, team and practice leads as well as a number of graduate roles.
